Just wondering if anyone has experienced abnormal vaginal bleeding unrelated to their cycles? I've been having recurrent abnormal bleeding which started when I was 39weeks pregnant. DS is now 15weeks old. I was induced because of it and because they could not determine where the bleeding was coming from and due to my location from hospital deemed it was safer to get bub out.
Well fast forward another almost 4months and it has not stopped. Internal, pelvic examination and pap smear have all been normal. Its bright red blood loss. Varies in quantity. It might stop for a few days and then start again. It might be heavy and other days only a spot. But always fresh bright bleeding. I'm over it and over not having answers. I have an ultrasound booked but its 3weeks away. Anyone experienced similar?
Do you have any pain with the bleeding? I only ask because I had ovarian cysts which would fill with blood then burst and I'd have in between cycle bleeding. It wasn't excruciating pain but there was pain nonetheless! I ended up having laproscopic surgery to have them lasered off. That was 10yrs ago and i haven't had any problems since ☺
Thank you for your replies. I have been thinking the worst.
When I was pregnant with DS I had large ovarian cysts they were planning on removing at 13weeks. My 12week scan however showed they had shrunk considerably so they decided against the surgery. My 19week scan showed the largest was only 3cm from 8cm at the 12week scan. I have not had a scan since. The bleeding currently is heavier then a period. Its really ramped up tonight. Frank fresh blood like a fresh cut not clotty at all. I would think period but this is what its been doing on and off and exactly the same as it was in the last few days of my pregnancy. I can't put it down to retained products from pregnancy as it stared before bub was born. I know AF could return now but with my last bubs AF stayed away for over 6months and I am BF exclusively, no dummies and no comp feeds. I have had back pain and the runs for over a week.
Fibroids or polyps could be a possibility. That would be better then cancer which is my big concern at the moment especially with the extreme fatigue I have had for the past 10-11months.
I hope it's nothing really serious hun hoping the next 3 weeks go by really fast.
Regarding the fatigue, have you had bloods to check your iron, ferritin, haemoglobin levels? I had extreme fatigue in sept 2013 (could sleep 10 hours overnight and have a 2.5hr afternoon nap and still felt like I had been hit by a bus). After having bloods I ended up having to have an 8hr iron infusion in hospital due to anaemia and I'm also on a monthly 50,000iui dosage of vitamin D as (extremely) low Vit D is also a contributor to excessive fatigue.
Yeah I just came back in to say maybe fibroids.
Hope it's nothing, it's hard not to think the worst but the odds are more likely to be something treatable x
