Question Green Poo in 18 month old ???? What does it mean????

Hi, I had a friend over today and her son who is 18 months old has had bright green poo for about 2 days now. She asked me if I knew what it would be from? I have no idea. Does anyone know what could cause green poo in an 18 months old? Thanks

What has he been eating and drinking lately? I've noticed if my kids eat fruit loops, too much green cordial or even too many green grapes that it can turn their poos bright green. Also Erin had an incident at playgroup once where they had to blow bubbles in the coloured water to make bubble paintings and she sucked instead of blew on the straw and she had blue poo for a week LOL.

Thanks Sherie, So it is more than likely just something that he has been eating and nothing serious.

Blue poo, that would be interesting. Thanks for that Sherie. I will give her a call now.

I had bright green poo for days when I was little and I'd eaten a green meringue.
If its a brightish green its likely to be something thats been eaten/ingested.
If its a darker, black/green colour, maybe it could be iron?

Jack had orange poos for a day after eating orange paint at day care. Lucky they told me when I picked him up or I would have freaked!

I had the same trouble with Jett a while ago.
I was giving him a blue pop top and had no idea, then it dawned on me that maybe it was that. I stopped it and so did the green poo, Yuck!!!

Definately something that has been eaten. My DD has bright green poos whenever she eats twinpoles...maybe a colouring or preservative in them. Scared me at first...yuk!!!

Thanks everyone. Sounds like nothing to worry about and just something that he has eaten. It is scary when you dont know what it is.
