Kenwood all the way for me.

I bought mine over 8 years ago, along with the Kenwood Chef, and it is still going strong. It is incredibly sturdy. Expensive, but worth it in my mind. (I cook pretty much everything from scratch, and I enjoy cooking, so they were both an investment for me.)

    Here is the blurb:
Model: FP920 - EON Food Processor
    Powerful 900 watt motor
3.0 litre capacity, dishwasher safe bowl and lid
    Single automatic speed and pulse
    High quality stainless steel blades
Wide range of attachments - including:
    mini bowl
    large & small knife blades
    coarse & fine shredding/slicing discs
    fine chipper disc
    rasping disc
    twin geared metal whisk
    citris juicer
    maxi blend canopy
    dough tool
    mulit-mill & lid
    spatula
recipe book and KENSTORE attachment storage unit
    Integral carrying handles
    Power on illumination
Non-slip rubber feet and cord storage
    Safety locking system

Mine also came with a 1.5l blender jug too.

I think I need a new processor, I hate my braun. I love it but the bowls seem to melt in the dishwasher even though its dishwasher safe. I've bought 3 bowls and now I'm up for a new one again.

I would love a magimix, if I'm being extravigant. Would go nicely with my Kitchenaid. And I would love all the attatchments too.

Kenwoods sound great are they dishwasher friendly?

    *hugs*

Yep. Everything in my house has GOT to be dishwasher proof or else it would just stay dirty, LOL!

(My aunty has a magimix that she was given for a wedding pressie in 1969, and it is STILL going, so I guess that is also a good recommendation!)

Do it. If you have a kitchen item that you love, $$ well spent IMHO. It'll last longer than your average car!

Andrew bought me both my Kenwoods (at frightening expense) out of a big commission pay when we first moved in together (bless him). He nearly had heart failure at the price, but here I am, 8 years later, churning out food for a family of 6, without a hitch.........and fully expect still to be using them both in another 8 years.......

Thanks for that Lucy. At the moment I think I'm leaning towards a kenwood.
Mum got a kenwood mixmaster when she got married in 1968 and not only was it still going strong up until the day she died (probably still is) but when she decided she wanted to make home-made sausages in the 80's she contacted the company and they sold her a new accesory that fitted her 20 year old machine.

I think you save money by buying better quality kitchen equipment. If you buy cheapies you just have to replace them sooner which ends up costing more over time.

LOL, I know that sausage attachment......my Dad got one for my Mums old Kenwood (in the '80's too...LOL, must have been a foodie trend of the time!) and he tryed his hand at home made sausages....
