Hi, my tummy goes really tight and comes and goes in waves, I would think that what you are feeling is the baby pushing or kicking you??? Not 100%sure though....
Thanks for your replies
What do Braxton Hicks feel like! All the books say it your uterus contracting. I get a pain in my cervix (like the baby is banging on a a drum up in my Pelvis area - and it takes my breath away) is that Braxton Hicks. Sorry to ask a daft questions, but would like to know what to expect?
PS baby is posterior & engadged!

Apparently the docs reckon I've been having BH's for a while (they found me having some on the CTG machine the other day) but I haven't felt any of mine at all!!
The only feeling I have been getting is the 'pinchy' feeling which feels like a bit of a cramp, but only in my pelvic area... I assumed that this was just the baby's head trying to engage?
Sounds like itAlthough last pg I was like serendipity and didn't know I was having them
. They just felt like bubs was pushing on the top of my tum! Other pgs it was like a real pinchy feeling below my bump.
I had one had the OB and its like your tummy tightens and goes rockhard.
I think I had braxton hicks last week at 27 weeks. My belly went all tight for a bit and cramped and I found it hard to walk, kind of painful. Have not had it since.
Hello, does anyone know how to get the head down more into pelvis? I am 35/36 weeks no one really knows. I sometimes get this really sharp pain in the groin/vagina area. I thought baby is suppose to slow down it's movement around this time.
Chenaliyah - I think that's bubs head grinding your cervix - that's what I think it was for me anyhow!
Movement may not slwo down until right before labour, in fact it may not slow until transition. I had a very active bubba right up until the morning i went into labour.
As for the baby being engaged - sometimes babies do not enagage until established labour.
Check out spinningbabies.com for keys to positioning in these last few weeks. Good luck with the impenidng labour.
i was told my my midwife today to try an exercise ball and sitting more forward and up straight to try and get bub in the right position in the pelvis. She told me this today so i would get in the habit of doing it. She also said swimming and doing forward strokes can help bub move into the right posistion in the pelvis.
Ive had a few BH. To me, my tummy goes really hard (like a rock) and is uncomfy for about 5 seconds.. my first one freaked me at about 20 weeks but now im used to them and get them about once every 2nd-3rd day HTH
