My little one is 4 months old. She is a real treat during the day but at around 10ish or midnight she tends to wake up seamingly in pain with her legs not so much scrunched up with wind, but moving up and down quickly. This happens almost every two hours till seven then the day is normal again. She deeply growls and almost makes cat like calls and she doesn't tend to cry unless I leave her for a long long time in this state. The only thing I am finding is that she goes back to sleep with a small amount of milk. She is only breast fed and I am wondering if it is something I am eating during the day.- Lettuce? Bread? Mushrooms? Cheese? Potato?
I don't want to get her into the habit of having to feed her to get her to sleep at night after she wakes and I would love a bit more sleep as it takes me over an hour to get back to sleep after I feed her. Has anyone experienced this or is my little bub all alone on this one? Any ideas would be welcomed with open arms!
Sorry I've not had that happen with any of mine but I wanted to say that if a small feed settles her then try it! Are you feeding her every time she wakes up then? I can kind of understand you not being too keen on feeding her every 2 hours overnight but it may prevent her from waking again if you feed her the first time.
I've not bought much into the "bad habits" thing because I have found that they tend to change their little routine on you anyway just when you think they're predictable. Teething or a cold can change things totally!
Same for the opposite happeneing. Caleb was waking once or some nights twice after he begun teething. I'd bring him back to bed and give him a quickie feed then transfer back to his cot afterwards. One night he didn't wake up and then he was sleeping through again!
i'm not sure. sounds a little like when DD had silent reflux, feeding with small amounts and frequently, in pain, not sleeping for long stretches) but it happened with my DD during day and night. do you have health clinic or GP you could go to to get advice etc?? sorry not much of a help here.
