we are getting his needles done today and he normally only has amild reaction to the vaccinations but for some reason im feeling insecure about how he will fair up after these ones...
was your LP's reaction different with the 12month than the 2,4 & 6 month V's
We had no dramas with any until 12 months. We ended up in hospital with a temp of 42. Of course they treated me like i was an idiot...but I didn't want her seizing at home.
Izzy had a very mild reaction to the earlier ones, and I had heard horrible things about the 12 mth one so we waited a while to get hers done as she was sick and grizzly etc so she was past 13 mths when she actually had it. I waiting until she was absolutely 100 % before going. OT sorry but she didn't react at all... no spots, temp or irritation, so I think we were one of the lucky ones. Good luck with it.
seems a hit and miss kind of thing i just keep eye on his temp and if it gets high take him hospital like you Kim - i dont care what they think im not risking anything.
Hi ladies - well had shots i stayed home today as he woke up t 6.00am screaming he waas failry warm - wrmer than usual gave him some panadol hes better now a bit grizzly and also ive noticed that the site that they did the menigicoccal one has had an irritaion or soomething - looks like a mozzie bite then small red rash - i know the vaccine doesnt contain the virus but wondering if any of your had a red rasied irritaion around the site - its pretty painful he not completely walking on it and it hurts when we do pants at nappy change ?
I think they can develop a rash at the site. I was also told her legs might be a bit achey, which can cause them to be a bit grizzly because hey, that's understandable, right? Might also be a little bit of a bruise there?
We didn't really have any issues here, but I always keep a bit more of an eye on her around needle time. And I just try to give her as much comfort as she needs. I've heard that the side-effects can take 7-12 days to present themselves too. So that could be worth baring in mind.
