Unhappy Still in pain near c/s site... **Sooky cry included**

I've been in pain in my lower tummy on and off since Tuesday. I called the midwives on Tuesday night and they told me to take panadol and if it eased up then it was more than likely muscular or ligaments stretching.

Well the panadol did seem to help but the pain picked up again yesterday and all night last night, and combined with a lower back period type pain I'm wondering how on earth I will make it through the next 8 weeks and then attempt a vbac.

I have been so blessed with both of my pregnancies, no complications and no major pain/issues in either pregnancy but this constant niggling pain is starting to get to me. I don't want to take panadol every day for the next 8 weeks, and I did my stretch class last night and my yoga but that seems to make it worse rather than better.

The pain is VERY low in my pelvic area, around my c/s scar and radiating into my groin/hip muscle area. It is very period pain like, and in some parts definately feels muscular. I've also been getting pelvic pain occasionally when I separate my legs, so have been careful to get out of bed with legs together.

I'd love to hear from anyone else who has had a previous c/s and if it is normal pain in the c/s site like this.

ETA - Have to say too that I can't switch off my brain and all I've also been doing is beating myself up for allowing myself to be induced with Izzy and then ending in c/s and if I had only waited I wouldn't be in this pain now.

    Oh Tan honey

Pain near the c-section site is NORMAL. You think, bubs is down there, moving around, getting into position, and pushing his head on nerves that have been damaged. I used to get the most painful sensation, sort of like being cut open with a knife, and its because bub's head was pushing on a nerve. All things like that are normal. Please don't stress too much.

And don't beat yourself up about getting through this VBAC. You will do it. Your body didn't fail you last time, the medical profession failed you. Who knows what you would have been able to do with Izzy had you been given more time to go into labour yourself?!?!

Please have faith in your body. I have faith in you!!!!!! *mwah*

    Gorgeous post Mel.

Tan, as you know I have no experience with that sort of pain but just wanted to give you

I hope that the bath and your snooze will help. You can rest up for a few days now (Woo for no work )

I agree with Mel that you didn't fail yourself with Izzy hun, the medical profession did. Please, please have faith in yourself sweet. I know you can do this! You have done so much research and you are doing everything possible to get your VBAC. You are more than prepared for this and you have an amazing Doula as well as a gorgeous husband to support you through it. You know where I am if you need me anytime again.

    hang in there
dont beat yourself up about your past birth experience- you did what was the best thing at the time.

Is it possible that you have pelvic instability and that is causing the problems. Those damm hormones do wierd things to out ligaments. What about finding out about one of those brace things. i think Feeb wore one- so speak to her. I also agree that you can take panadol everyday for the next 8 weeks- what about osteo to help, or physio, or even AP. There are alternatives than taking a pill everyday.
What about swimming? or warm baths? Massage?

If its like period pain- could the pain be brackson hicks giving you grief? If the pain gets worse or unbareable or regular- then go and get your self checked out- my period like pain actually turned out to be contractions

If it doesnt feel right- then it isnt- you dont have to put up with- you just have to find ways to ease it.
Take care and hang in there

Thanks to all of you lovely ladies I think I'm just an emotional mess right now and this isn't helping.... Izzy and I had a big cry together today - so funny, she was crying because we had to come inside from being outside and I cried because I was too sore to stay out there with her.

The panadol and warm bath this morning really helped, and I haven't done much today so have been feeling pretty good...If it persists into next week I will call my middies during the day and see what they say. A brace sounds good but anything tight on my belly just hurts so I would have to wear it while at work maybe.
Will also look into a physio if it persists too.... argh the joys!
