Nesting is fun, isn't it?

I'm usually the single laziest person in the world when it comes to housework, so I'm enjoying the fact that housework has a real purpose these days. The apartment's starting to be livable!

We've really got very little stuff for the baby (very small apartment) but I'm getting really into setting up the nursery. I was down on hands and knees vacuuming the floor with the smallest, most precise attachment I could find (vacuuming the carpet strand-by-strand) when I noticed the skirting boards need cleaning. Heheheh. I think I'll be making up new jobs for myself until baby arrives.

Now if only I could figure out how to get the windows clean on the outside, they're driving me insane!

Hehe! Yes nesting is fun. I still find myself finding huge jobs to do. A couple of weeks ago I cleaned out my entire pantry (it is a walk in one with lots of other stuff in it too!!).
I had a friend who decided that the roof of her car really needed cleaning so she got up there at 8 or so months pg and got stuck on the slippery roof!! Thankfully nothing bad happened!

Heh I can probably find 9 weeks of work in this tiny apartment. Ooooh the pantry, that could do with some organising!! The linen cupboard needs organising, too. The fridge could do with a clean. I could clean down the vertical drapes one by one, what else ...

Or is this just procrastination while there's nothing on TV except those stupid idiots running around in circles in a very smoggy city?

I love nesting!!! On the weekend I dusted vacuumed, scrubbed the bath for an hour and then took everything out of the kitchen drawers and washed them out (including everything that was in them )
By the way, I actually did work out how to clean the outside of high windows, I found a sponge window cleaning thing that had a magnet in it (this probably makes no sense!) so you cleaned the inside and outside at the same time, it was attached to a string so if the outside one fell it wouldn't drop to the ground!

I think mine might be a bit of both! I'm still waiting for mine to kick in although my nesting instinct right now is manifesting itself in cooking rather than cleaning. Lots of baking biscuits etc!

Man, when I did the big 'nest' clean out I was at MILs waiting to drop.
I swept, vacuumed & mopped all her floors. After being in town all day & then walked 2 k's that night!
DS was born at 1015 the next morning.
For a good 8 weeks before that I wore myself out everyday keeping the house spotless. It was great - I'm not the cleanest person in the world either.
I just wish this baby would go back to sleep before I lose my mojo!
I'm in a wierd cleaning mood today. I'm even planning on cleaning out the kids rooms!
Sleep damn it baby! None of it will end up getting done.

PML, I have taken nesting to new heights. I bought a new house which we move into this Monday and I am having my baby just over a week later. Aaaaggghhh, nothing like moving all my stuff into a new place

Both fun and exhausting, remember to try and take it easy. I cleaned my daughters room out and up last friday and ended up in bed for two days with a sore back.
Best way i know how to clean outside windows is a clean broom, a bucket of soapy water and a hose or bucket of clean water.

Sponge on a string sounds good. First I have to figure out how to take the fly screens off. I'm sure it's easier than it looks. I live by the sea and my windows are covered, and I mean covered, in salt. Even for a nester it's probably going to be too much to take on (also ultimately useless because next easterly breeze will cover the windows in salt again).

BUT I'm curious about the challenge.

ahhh nesting is fun while your doing it ... but when youve done the whole house and waiting for labour to start , its kinda frustrating the house is not messy anymore ....

i nested big time a few weeks ago , now that im bored as , theres nothing to do ... i am getting exctied about the 2 loads of washing i have to do tomorrow ... other than that everythign is spotless you could lick the floor

Georgi: I think it would be hilarious if you started cleaning the hospital. You could mug a cleaner and steal the uniform, no one will stop you ... but shouldn't you be resting?

Charmalea: I'm worried about having the house ready too early. What do you think about my theory ... if I get the house ready early, the baby will come early (I'm thinking 2 weeks early will do).
