Hi
we are going oseas next week (YAYYAYAYAYAYAY) - just to Bali. DS is 11.5 mnths - sleeping is just getting ok now...
Time diff is 2 hrs, so not too bad... but wanted any info on what effects re jet lag are going to be and also how to deal w it. we are only going for a week...
thanks
Now I may be wrong but usually jet lag occurs when the body (circadian rhythm?) adjusts to the rhythm of the sun ie night and day. So a 2 hour trip will not induce jet lag- it shouldn't be a problem for you. Lucky you going to Bali!
We've been from Melbourne to Perth (2hrs diff) and also to Thailand (3 hrs diff) with DD with absolutely no problems at all. Kids cope much better with changes in time than adults do and if you switch them to local time immediately then you should be ok. With DD you wouldn't have even known that there was a change in the time at all she slipped straight into the local time that quickly.
You'll be fine.......2 hours won't induce any jet lag I don't think.
I did 36hrs travel time with Charlie as a 9 month old........when we hit the UK, he slept like a log in the car going to my brothers for a couple of hours, and I treated that like his morning nap. Then I kept him up for the rest of the day until our normal bath bood bed routine. And he corrected himself straight away: MUCH quicker than I did!
