    Pillow use for toddlers

    Hi
Just wondering when to use a pillow for a toddler? I've heard that it makes them sleep better. My DD is 11 months old and wiggles around the cot like a worm atm.
Anybody got any advice, hints or tips...?
    TIA

Hmmm not too sure but I think the recommendation for pillow use is after 1 year of age. When Noah comes into bed with us he has his head on the pillow. Not sure about it making him sleep better though.

We didnt give our DS a pillow untill he was 2 1/2, I think that was probable late but he never wanted one and I never thought he needed it. He still only now he is 3 has the flattest of pillows. I think it is personal preference, but not sure about when he is in the cot or for sleeping better? sorry not much help

We've just given DS a very thin junior pillow, he's two next month. TBH I wouldn't have given it to him at 11 months, I would've worried a bit about him smothering still. Maybe that's just me

But we have definitely noticed an improvement in his sleeping - he doesn't roll around the cot so much, stays under his blankets better and I think it helps keep his neck warm.

We gave DS a pillow after he turned 1. Cant remember how long after but reason was he would get out of the blankets to lie on top of them and used them as a pillow.

I found DD always headbutting her way onto my pillow when she was in bed with me and so I gave her a thin adult one with my pillow case on one night when she was around 8m (not the recommended age, but we have a movement monitor and I was a little less concerned, not to mention desperate enough to try anything) Also, I noticed she took any opportunity to lie on top of anything soft - cushions, soft toys, bunched up blankets.
Anyway, she now sleeps with two adult thin pillows - one at each end of the cot as she moves around all the time. She does sleep better now, but it's hard to say whether it's the pillows, there are so many other factors. I do know she loves them and it makes the cot much cosier Give it a go if you think it may help IMO.

I started Gaby with a pillow when I put her into a big-girl bed, so at around 19 months...
