I think I've stuffed up our family tax estimates for last year... I estimated my income at $6000. I earned about $5000. I'm on maternity leave, but still employed technically fulltime. So my full amount of fringe benfits that I would have earned- $17000- is still recored as my income, despite the fact that I haven't seen a cent of it- it still looks, on my tax return, like I earnt $22000.
So I think I will owe them a lot of money- I should have put my income in at $22000, not $5000, and included my fringe benefit amount. But I din't know that would be included in my income because I didn't receive it.
What a rort. I am going to be paying them back money for money I didn't get. And I doubt they will take my ignorance as an excuse.
