clingy baby/wants to be held always - nearly 6 months

Just lately Ive noticed, I am unable to keep my little one occupied to play on his own. Im constantly having to pick him up/hold him/walk him. He has two little teeth sprouted, so wonder if its just the comfort thing due to teething. Its becoming very hard and I know he will grow out of it. Has anyone had this problem. Im at my wits end...!!

He is 6 months on saturday...

have you got a sling you can put him in caz? so at least you can still get some things done

My DS was like that a few weeks ago. I think its coz they are noticing more of their surroundings, but can't quite move around as easy as they'd like.

Well that was DS's problem. Now that he's Kinda commando crawling/spinning/rolling to getto things he's a bit easy to entertain.

I also have a walker for him so when I'm reslly desperate I can put him in it so he's up off the ground. He likes it.

A sling was great for me too, DD was prem and got her teeth early too (4 months) so she always wanted comfort from me. The only way I could do it was with a sling, I used a ring sling, it was comfortable and she could snuggle into my shoulder. It only cost about 30 from ebay.

Yep, my DS was exactly the same, I found that he was getting frustrated cause he couldn't move around much. Now that he's crawling he's a much happier little boy and can entertain himself a little more.
It does get better so hang in there!

Mine is nearly two and has been like that for most of her life. I sympathise, it is very exhausting.

I agree with the others - look into a sling and try some babywearing. It satisfies bub's desire for closeness, and yours to try and get things done.

My DS2 was like that (and still can be at times) from ages 4 - 8 months. The more mobile he has become the happier he is. It was tough going for a while there, but it does get better. Some babies just need lots of snuggles from mum .
