    When will we feel movements

We are 15 weeks and 5 days pregnant with our first baby, and just wondering when we should expect to feel movements?

I am getting anxious now, for our 20 week scan hoping that there will still be a heartbeat, not sure if anyone else goes through these thoughts, but I am just hoping all is ok, it has been though with previous scans, great heartbeat, measurements all great too, but I just stress abit I suppose.

It is human nature to worry. I was also really worried going for my 19 week scan as I wasnt feeling any movement.

Time of movement really depends, some people feel it quite late and well into the 20's. I know that I am only just starting to feel a kick every now and then and I am nearly 20 weeks.

Prior to that I would feel a flutter maybe once or twice a week that made me think is it bubs but nothing consistent.

I like you couldnt wait for movement just for that confirmation that all is okay. I didnt have m/s at all so the only symptom I have is being tired and a belly. It is nice now that I am starting to get a kick every now and then, makes me smile.

Dont worry you will be telling bubs to stop kicking so you can sleep in no time

If you are really worried maybe go to your GP/OB and get them to put a doppler on you for your own piece of mind.

The average is 18 - 22 weeks. Many are earlier & many later.
It depends on alot of things really.
Placenta position, mum's size, babies position.
It can also be something as simple as not knowing what to look for.

    You'll get there soon.

I was the same as you at your stage. I was feeling left out when everyone one in my BB group was feeling movement and I wasn't yet. I thought I did for a while there but now that I know what the movements actually feel like I can honestly say I was probably feeling muscle spasms and not baby moving. I think I felt bump move at around 18 weeks just before the 19 week scan. I am feeling bump move every day now, right now in fact.

I started feeling movements around 19 weeks. I had an anterior placenta and they told me I might not feel movement until 20weeks or later. I also was told it depends upon babies position too, your own size and how much padding you have on the tummy area.

I'm 17 weeks pg with #3 and haven't felt movements yet. My GP tried last week to get the hb but didn't have any luck so now I just have to wait for the 19 week scan or baby to finally get thru the placenta (my placenta is on the outside wall of the uterus so I dont feel movement as much).

I cant remember when my first DD moved but I think it was about 18 weeks.

    Cheers,

I am now 11 weeks with twins, this is technically my 5th pregnancy so I dont know if this has anything to do with it.

This week, I swear I have been feeling "butterflies" which is the only way of describing the sensation. It has only happened twice, but I am pretty certain this is the first movements.

With my 4 year old, I felt his 1st movements at about 14 weeks

I'm 18.5wks and I havent felt anything yet either Im disappointed but im sure it will happen. I havent had any real pregnancy symptoms so everytime they do a scan or check the heartbeat my heart is in my throat because i'm never sure that its going to be there
