Just got a fantastic Bear Hug Baby ring sling (THANK YOU SUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and have been checking out all the online guides and videos.
One thing I'm not sure about is her legs... when she's in a semi-laying positon is it better to tuck her legs in and bend them up like in the fetal positon, or let them hang out, or tuck them in and around me? If its the last one... well that doesn't look very comfy!
For that position, do you find it easier to have the head on the ring side or opposite?
And when she's in a vertical position its best to tuck her legs in right? At least for now?
Whens shes vertical tummy-tummy do i just cross her legs? Thats what one of the videos showed, but again... doesn't look very comfy!
Leasha, the trick is to make sure her bottom goes in first, and is on the seam (both with lying and sitting). If you do that you can't go wrong.
When lying it really is a matter of how long she is - she will be fine with legs tucked up, and hanging out a bit is fine too. As with sitting, it looks really uncomfortable as they have their bottom down and legs tucked up, sort of cross-legged, a bit higher than the bottom. But believe me, they are so flexible and used to being in a confined space, so they really love it.
Both my boys were in a ring sling until well after 1yo and always loved it.
