hi
Are you wrapping DD when she goes down in her bassinett? As she may be waking due to her arms flinging her in the face abd every time she moves she wakes her self up!! As she is only a month old.... just a suggestion.
cheers Ainsley
I have noticed the last week or so DD doesnt like her bassinette anymore & is spending more & more time co-sleeping with us at night. You can put her in the bassinette when she is almost alseep & she will start screaming or if you wait until she is alseep she will wake up within 10 mins screaming. Its not just grizzling its actual screaming and she doesnt do this in our bed.
I dont have a problem with this as I enjoy co-sleeping (aside from getting a dead arm because she wants to be held) and wasnt sure before she was born if I would co-sleep or not and now I dont have to make a decision, she's made it for me.
I was just wondering if anyone elses children made the decision for them in regards to co-sleeping

We have tried both wrapping and not wrapping and its the same either way
Hi Sal
My DD slept very happily alone in her cradle and cot from day one. If she was sick or unsettled, I'd bring her in with me and she'd sleep in our bed (much better sleep for both of us too!), but this didn't happen much. Gradually, as she dropped bfs, it ended up where after her 5am bf she'd stay in bed with us. She started waking when she was older (nearly 18 mths) and we took the sides off the cot so she could come and find us (and I'm lazy and it was winter!). From then on, every night she needs us she comes in to our bed. At the very least she climbs in at about 5-6am for a cuddle, bf and some more sleep.
So yes, she did make the decision to partially co-sleep. If my next bub is unsettled I will have them in with us from day 1, it is so much easier and less disruptive to my sleep. I love the cuddles too!
Sal,
Sam made the decision for me too.He used to do exactly the same thing. He is pretty much in the bed full time now.The only other thing he will sleep in is our Amby Baby Hammock. If you don't want to co-sleep, it's a fantastic investment.Although it's nice to cuddle isn't it?
xx
DD1 made the decision, part of me wanted to fight it, but the other part loved it. DD2 has not really had a choice. Easier for me to go straight to it, means we both get some decent sleep. DD1 no longer naps, so night is it for me getting sleep.
Savannah made the decision for me too. I was adamant when pregnant that she'd be in her cot from day 1, in her Nursery. Course, then I couldn't take my eyes off her and was happy to have her sleep in the bassinet beside me.
But of course after the first two weeks (where all she did was sleep), she wouldn't settle in the bassinet, would wake up when going down etc. Slept beautifully on me or beside me in the bed, and voila, we entered the wonderful world of co-sleeping.
Next time around? I won't even bother setting up the cot hehe
Yep this is me too! Well i might get an arms reach one!Next time around? I won't even bother setting up the cot
Myles slept quite well in his cot, but decided that he would be happier near me! Which i adore! Its so easy to feed him and resettle him when he wakes!
I too get a dead arm or whole body cause i sleep on my side facing him lol!
Enjoy having you baby so close! they are only tiny for such a small time! xxx
