I've been noticing for the past 3-4 months that my 'you know what' felt swollen. I've read that that's perfectly normal in pregnancy and that it can affect intercourse, etc. so it didn't really bother me. I never noticed anything of the kind with my last pregnancy.
Now that I'm getting so close to the due date, I feel a bit of concern about it. It seems more pronounced and I notice it a lot when I walk, sit, or DTD. My biggest concern is that when I'm trying to push bubs out, the swelling will take up too much space or I'll be in more pain than last time. Are these reasonable concerns? Has anyone else dealt with this before?
Kellsbells- I had this aslso with my second... Never noticed with my 1st but it became a real issue for me with #2. It felt aweful... Felt like i could feel it between my legs like it was so big and swollen it was gettng in the way...
With My second i was induced and 1 push and bubs was out... I dont even remember pushing... I dont think it would affect the labour... Like you said it is normal but if your concern speak to your OB or GP.

oh on....you poor sausage. Take Raven's advice...rest up as mucha s you can. If it hurts to much or gets hot so to speak...put a panty liner in the freezer or fridge then pop it in for some coolness.
It wont hamper the way you give birth at all, but it only natural that you would have concerns about it. Mine got progressively worse with each pg to the point that I wasn't even out of the first trimester with my 4th before it was all swollen.
Hi , I can totally sympathise, mine developed into a varicose vein that bled. What Maz said about putting something cold on it helps. I used to have a lay down and put a cold pack over the top of my panties(not inside,tooo cold!) and it woudl releive the pain. PLus just keep your legs up as much as you can, and DONT SQUAT! it puts extra pressure on it.
As soon as baby is born you will find it miraculously disappears.

As everyone has said it is normal and will not have any effect on your ability to push baby out. Resting may help you could also make some frozen fingers by filling condoms with water. These fingers can then be put inside a pad by making a small hole in the lining. The cold from the ice can help with the swelling.
Thanks everyone. I feel better about it now. I have been resting lots and putting my feet up when possible during the day. It's not really uncomfortable enough to ice it but I'm excited to know it goes away so quickly after birth.
