Exclamation How will I sit at my desk soon with a HUGE belly?!?!

How on earth will I be able to sit comfortably at my desk when my belly gets even bigger?

As it is, my belly is already protruding out far enough that I have to pull my chair back further so I'm allowing more room for my belly and so it's not hitting the desk!!
This then makes it awkward for me as I feel like my back isn't straight as I can't sit closely to the desk anymore.

How on earth do pregnant women sit at a desk when they are 30+ weeks?!?

When I was PG, I had the OH&S ladies come a couple of times to help me adjust my chair and desk, etc, it's quite common for preggy ladies to have problems sitting at a desk. If you're working for a big organisation I suggest you do the same. Plus sometimes it just comes down to taking more breaks, worker shorter days or starting mat leave earlier!

I worked up to a couple of days short of 37 weeks. I never had an issue. My desk was a corner type and I think that helped. My problem was trying to type while I had my feet up on archive boxes under the desk (trying to keep the swelling down).

It's our business so I'm as high up as it gets! I just wanted to know how you other girls have coped.... i'm only 23 and a half weeks pregnant but already feel so so huge.... (my belly is pretty big for 23wks).

I've got a foot rest, that does help.

One of the girls in my office requested a fit ball that sits inside a base/chair that we bought from Rebel Sport. It worked perfectly for her. She comfortably worked at her desk until 38 weeks.

Because it sat in a specially designed base it didn't move around.

I didnt work after i was like 20 weeks preg but while i was on the comp at home i bought a round chair (jeeze its hard to explain... lmao so its probably not much help) Was real padded and oh so comfy (i still have it just dont use it anymore) Anyway it would left you recline abit which helped the growing belly ... I'll do a search and see if i can find what i mean ... Was a life saver for me

I just lowered my chair until my belly was under the desk and moved the monitor and keyboard forward. Probably not the best of OWHS but worked for me until 38 weeks. I did find that bubs would kick the desk wherever it contacted with her, she wasn't impressed with the squished feeling.
I agree that you might want to check out those fit balls. Will keep your back straight as well as helping with keeping your pelvic floor muscles working. When they are on the bases then they are quite steady. I was also recommended to use one (which I did at home) to get bubs into a better position (possible breech at one point) and keep her there.
Good luck with the rest of your pg

Being nearly 32 weeks I find it easy to sit at my desk - I have a really good chair and a high desk so most of my belly is under the desk. I have a wireless keyboard so I move it quite close and I moved my screen closer as well.
I find that I have to sit up straight as I can to be comfy but over all no issues as yet.
However over the next 6 weeks of work that I have left Im in no doubt that I may encounter some issues as my tummy feels like it is growing rapidly dailiy!! Gawd help me in 6 weeks time!!

Youll be right as rain Ren!!

We get these silly chairs here .. where you sit on your knees.

Here's a pic (if I'm not suppose to post it here ... oops sorry )

    http://www.backinaction.co.uk/images...ture-chair.jpg

Don't know if it would help, because it would be weird getting into them, BUT it keeps your back very straight and it can be adjusted Maybe find a good office-supply store that stock them and try them out.

BTW ... you don't fall off a fitball that easy, hun. You really have to try, specially if you are using it as a chair at a desk. Borrow one from someone just to try it out. It's GREAT for your core-mucsles also.

    3) ya don't ..

ETA: I drove DH's bakkie this morning and complained about WHY in soup's name would he sit so close to the stearing wheel ... he was very quick to point out that it's not him ... it's my belly

You can get a base for the fit ball so it doesn't roll around. They are really good for your back and also you would be less likly to have baby facing posterior.

I swore by the fit ball at work. And I am very very uncoordinated, but I found it to be not the most elegant look, but certainly most comfortable. And when I was having sciatic problems later in pregnancy, it really helped out then too.
