Girls Toddler Bedroom Ideas

Hello,

I am in need of some inspiration for decorating my daughters new bedroom .. I am transforming it into a little girls room .. that will have to be suitable up untill she is a teen .. any ideas!!

I'm not sure about a theme that will be suitable through to teens years. But I've just decorated Nina's room in Disney Princess. She loves Princess stuff.
In her room is a bookshelf, her little princess lounge, bedside table with a princess lamp, her quilt cover is princess, and on the walls is a princess canvas with stars/heart stick on things beside the canvas. On another wall, I had her do a painting on a large canvas.
This didn't cost very much at all. The canvas painting she did cost me $15, the lamp cost $20, the quilt cover cost $50, the bookshelf we've had for a few years, and the bedside table cost $10.

And I will be decorating Emily's room in Fairies theme when she's a little older.

I personally would keep it quite simple because as she gets older you can add things or she will get gifts for Xmas and birthdays. Are you painting? A white or off-white with maybe one featuer wall would be nice. Pink and green are my fav colour combo. I think stars are also a nice "any" age decoration. You can put them on the wall, as a mobile, on mirrors etc. Have fun!!

We bought all of Autumn's furniture in plain white and she has one pink feature wall. At the moment, I accessorize in pinks and purples and I also did the painting on canvas thing for her first painting in pinks and purples. Then it's easy to update with different accessories and colours as they grow. Lamps, bedding, cushion covers, paintings, wooden decals, things hanging on fishing line or mobiles, the washing basket liner, storage boxes etc., - can all be changed easily. The hardest is the feature wall, but even that is just one wall and can be updated when she's old enough to want a change and choose a new colour. Decorating is so much fun - I'm getting all excited just thinking about it! LOL

I have to agree with white furniture, that way you can paint it with butterflies (or whatever theme you have) and then just sand it back when she is older, repaint it white and put another theme on it, or when she is a teen, let her do it and do her own design.

We also did a canvas. DD decorated some butterflies which we stuck to a canvas from the $2 shop. We got some fake flowers from the cheap shop as well, pulled them apart petal by petal, and stuck them back together on the canvas. She absolutely loves it hanging on her wall. I think i have a pic of it in my gallery?

I saw a 'fairy door' the other day and thought how wonderful it would be to decorate a room for a little girl now. Can't remember the website I saw it on, but they said they put it in a corner of the daughters room, and sprinkled fairy dust around it so their little one could see that the fairy had visited them....how cute!!
