where on earth do you buy those baby/toddler slumber beds? they are like little sofas that sit on the floor but they fold out into a bed? they have a theme like "dora the explorer" etc. can anyone help?
actually, in everyone's opinion, did you find these useful? i don't want to encourage the watching of tv on it if i get one, did it do that to your little one? our DD doesn't stay over anywhere, just thought perhaps she could have her bottle on it through the day in her room but i think i may end up dragging out to the tv area at night! does that make sense?
DS has one with the sleeping bag attached, we got it from Toys R Us. The main reason we bought it was because it was big and we thought he would grow with it...we have some friends with little boys who are 5 and 6 and they still love to sit on their little couches.
DS is only 2 at the moment, he tends to use it folded out for somersaults and "pretending" to be asleep (he likes tucking himself in and making snoring noises) but loves to sit on his couch and look through his storybooks. We have on occasion used it for him to have a nap in (he only has a nap once every couple of weeks). I've often thought it would be useful for a sleepover at my Mum's since DS is no longer in the cot.
My daughther has one.She loves it! We got it at Target during a toy sale. She loves to just sit on it. Sometimes she falls asleep on it. We didnt get it for watching TV. We just got it so she has somewhere to sit. We take it to places we go sometimes, where we know there wont really be anywhere for her to sit, or if we're going to someones house who is overly protective of their sofa (so she doesnt "wreck" their sofa.. iykwim)
No I don't think 9 months is too young. There is a photo I put in the photo galley of my ds on his new sofa (sorry don't know how to link). He loves it and he is 8 months.
I was in target the other day and i saw HUGE ones...like double the size of the normal ones that are out...just no sleeping bag thingy which i personally wouldnt have as i dont see the use since DD doesnt and wont sleep on her one. She uses it to sit and look at books and we use it when changing her clothes or a wet nappy in the lounge room.
We bought one at Easter for DD (cause I would get fat if I bought her Easter eggs and have to eat them LOL), and occasionaly lay her on it if she falls asleep through the day.. She is now going to it herself through the day, not to sleep, but I often find her sitting on it playing.. It is like she knows that it is a 'chill out zone'..
Oh, DD is 11 months now. But I don't think 9 months is too young.
We got DD's from Target for Easter, she has the bigger, sleeping bag type one. she doesnt use the sleeping bag though. hers is completely worn out though, the foam is all flat, and the fold out bit has ripped away form the seat part. mind you, she uses hers everyday (at night she watches a dvd befrore bed) and she often sits on it during the day tp read books of whatever.
the sleepover ones are aound the $90 mark, and the smaller ones are about $40.. im thinking of going back to the $40 one to see how long it lasts... if it lasts the same time, id rather pay 40 instead of 90!
Jak got his for his first xmas 3 mths and it is still going strong 21mths later if it was hot we would have him sleep on it as a newborn for day naps, and now he sits on it to watch tv read books he is forever laying on it
