Can anyone tell me if this is the start of Labour?

Not sure if something is happening but i think it might be!
Had a brief moment this arvo of feeling really good after my internal and being told i was 1cm dilated with a soft cervix- than went too bed round 0930, laid in bed reading, started too feel really hot and not well - urgently needed to go to the toilet and went and now have been getting cramps on and off and constantly feel like i need to go to the toilet, as if i have major gas - but i dont!
Pain is in back and in lower abdo - can still feel peanuts moving and getting alot of pressure down below - wondering if this could be the start?
im also bleeding a little - but have been told that is normal after an internal!

Definitely possible, but please rest as much as you can, it sounds like things are starting, so you may be in for a long night. try and rest, and if this is it, you will know. If it feel quite a bit like AF pain, and also like a muscle cramp and you cant talk through it then it is likely to be labour. Good luck hun!!

Sounds like it could be early labour!

Is the bleeding with a lot of mucous? It could be your show.

alioops - never had period pain so dont know what that feels like - but it is crampy - i hate the feeling of the pressure in my bum tho - finding that a bit scary!
I really want to go too sleep but cant - plus the fact that im getting a bit scared isnt helping!

Antheia - no mucus with the bleeding - but not lots of bleeding either!

Maybe start keeping a record of the cramps. How long they last, how far apart ect. you will notice if they are getting closer or further apart. Dont worry hun, you were made to birth this baby. The pressure on your butt is a very good sign though. I hope to be reading a BA sometime tomorrow!!!

i am keeping a record and from when i started recording they have been 2305, 2316, 2325, 2331, 2345, 2358, 0012 - so kinda all over the shop and i think they are lasting about 45seconds to a minute - havent been quiet able too time that by myself - i sent DH too bed!
I think its just the unknown that is scaring me - if i knew for sure this was labour and normal maybe i would be alright!

It is perfectly normal hun. It is pre labour which lasts up to 3 cm dilated. so sometimes it takes a while, but sometimes it is fairly quick. they are staying around the 10 minute mark though so eventually they should get closer together, and last longer. They do not have to be spot on for time, but approximates and averages. You are doing a great job hun. I know that sometimes for me I kept myself awake tracking them and then eventually fell asleep because they were a part of prelabour and ended up fizzling out. If this is the big one then you will not find yourself falling asleep.

Head for bed (put a stack of towels down first JIC) and keep an eye on them there. If you are able to fall asleep then do so, because it wont be long. This baby will be born soon, maybe tomorrow, maybe in a couple of days, but this is all good and normal. Rest as much as you can. You may find that if this is it you will fall asleep between contractions and wake up for each contraction, which is very good for getting rest in for the later stages.
