Girls middle name suggestions with Ruby...

    Hi again...

Here to rack people's brains now on middle name suggestions!

Ruby's looking like the first choice if we have a girl. Our surname is 3 syllable's so I'm thinking maybe a short/er middle name.

In my family there is a bit of tradition for girl's middle names starting with M and there is also a fair few names of the women in the family starting with J so I was tending towards these 2 letters but am very flexible!

    Thanks in advance

    ruby grace
    ruby may
    ruby faith
    ruby jade
    ruby jane

if you have a longer surname, i'd be leaning toward a single syllable middle name

    Thanks...

Ruby May is what springs to mind for me. Wasn't sure if it sounds too old-fashioned?? What do you think??

I also like Jane and Grace but can't use those ones as they're already taken!

I had thought of Ruby Jade as her brother is Declan James but wasn't sure if it was too gem-stone-ish iykwim!

    Apologies if I sound difficult!

Yeah I didn't think of that (Ruby Jade)! I was going to suggest Jewel but thought that was too much too! I really like 'M' names.

i think ruby may is really pretty - and little old fashioned names are very popular now!

i think it would depend on how you spelt Jade - if you changed it to Jayde, it wouldn't have the same gemstone feel.

but really, unless you hyphenate, how many people actively share their middle names all the time? most middle names come from family names or meaning for the parents...

Ruby is DH's birthstone and May is my month of birth, so it's a name he floated a long time ago - guess i have a soft spot for it too...

Since Ruby is a short name, I think you could use a longer middle name with it, instead of one of the typical one-syllable middle names like Jade, Clare, May, and Grace, even if you do have a longer surname.

    Ruby Alyssa
    Ruby Aurora
    Ruby Elaina
    Ruby Imogen
    Ruby Janet
    Ruby Juliette
    Ruby Malia
    Ruby Milena
    Ruby Viola
