Isabelle was a winter baby so I had the opposite problem to James! It was 35 here today and will only drop to around 22 overnight and hot again tomorrow.... Just wondering what others do as far as wrapping goes when it is so hot. Tonight James is in just a nappy, a light muslin wrap and I will put a singlet on him later if it cools down.
Our A/C doesn't reach the bedrooms unfortunately but I know he won't sleep without his arms wrapped so it's a bit of a catch 22- also worried because he is in the hammock which seems like it would be warmer than the cradle....
Just need some reassurance I think now that I have read back .. would love to know what others do....
I had Jasmine at end of October..and Chelsea end of November....so both warm to hot times...and i would have them im little summer suits and a light wrap with a sheet over them.
I did exactly what you did Tan (both my boys were Octo bubs). I would just put them in a nappy, a singlet if it was a bit cooler, and a muslin wrap. DS1 was in a hammock too and I used to put a fan in his room. I didn't position it directly on him, but close enough to create a bit of a breeze.
My Ds was born mid nov. The day we left hospital it was a wopping 40 degrees. we were in the AC hossy and walked out and walked back in to strip him off...
His 1st days at home he was in nothing but a singlet and nappy... he hated being wrapped up but at night i just put a muslin over him and tucked it in...
Tan Jake was a Nov baby as well and on hot nights we did the same as you - a nappy and singlet and then wrapped him in a muslin wrap. Don't worry your mummy instincts are working well!
Thanks ladies! I think the fan just to move the air around is a good idea as his room gets quite stuffy and it has a door that leads to the pool so we don't actually use it and there is no window. He seemed ok in the wrap last night so will keep doing that! Izzy was out of hers and in a bag by 8 weeks so will see how we go!
