    Ergo 101

I am hoping for some advice.
I brought the ergo when DS was 3 months, didn't realise I needed the insert & as he was too big for the weight restrictions with the insert anyway I didn't bother buying one. When DS was 4 mnths I tried him but he didn't really like the front carry position, he likes to see the world & while he loves me he doesn't want to be looking at me.

So I have been inspired to get it out again, he is nearly 8 months & is 11 kgs & I can get him onto my back o.k but I just can't seem to figure out the front carry or hip carry position. I'm am not that fussed with the front carry position but would love to use the hip carry position

so any tips/help/advice would be greatly appreciated

    TIA

I haven't tried the hip carry position with mine yet, but I've watched the instructional DVD and it looks like you have to adjust (crossover) the straps before you put the ergo on...sorry I can't really explain it too well as I haven't tried it myself! Definitely watch the instructional DVD if you can.

    Hi,

I have and Ergo, and we love it. Once bubs gets to that size, the back carry is the one thats recommended, and it's best for your back. I spoke to someone who sells it and she said that the hip carry is not great when they get bigger (especially for long periods) We mainly use that back carry (my son is about 9kgs) and he loves it and he can look around more. TBH, I have never used the hip carry, couldn't be bothered getting out the dvd to work it out, but I know you have to unclip the straps and swap them around.
