Backwards name finding!

Hi all,

After some assistance!

I want to go about names a little bit backwards - instead of choosing a name we like and then looking at the meaning, is there a way that I can use the meaning to find the name?

Does that make sense?

Anyone know how I might do that? Is there a website or something?

If you google 'baby names' you should find a couple of websites that allow you to search by meaning - they're definitely out there, I've come across them many times in my baby-naming travels.

ETA: And if you get stuck, you can always post the meaning you're after on here, and let the baby name gurus do the legwork for you.

Hey there OP
if you like a certain style of names- just type that in and it will give you a listing of the names and their meaning
for instance - we like hewbrew names- so we searched that and got the names and their meanings. It then lists all girl names and boy names and what they mean

You can look up Celtic names, English names, etc

Baby name finder is great! You can select gender, then the meaning and it will bring up a whole list for you...
