DS has had a bad cough last night and today. It is what I would describe as a 'wet cough', it sounds mucoussy. I have put my ear to his chest and his breathing sounds nice and clear but the cough sounds bad.
He also has a runny nose but it is not green/yellow so I'm really not that worried about it.
Do you think the cough warrants a visit to the Dr? I hate going for no reason but I don't want him to get really bad.
I would say because he has a runny nose the mucous is running down the back of his throat cause him to cough and it sound mucousy. But if it were me i would still go get it checked out for piece of mind since he is still so young.
We live at the Drs, LOL! But then my dr is very understanding... and she bulk bills
If he seems ok to you, there's no harm in just riding it out and seeing how he goes. But if you'd feel better getting him checked out, go for it.
I'm like snacks - I was constantly at the doctors in Jake's first year! However you need to be comfortable with your decision - some would say he's fine and leave it others would take him to the doctor. My doctor doesn't always reach for the ABs first but some do even when it isn't necessary. So ultimately listen to your gut if it says to go, then go!
I agree with Anthia & my DS has been like this over the last couple of weeks on & off but of course if you are worried at all don't hesitate to go to the drs
