There is double the worry with two - but also double the love
And you'll be more relaxed with your 2nd one - I know I am!!!!!
I was just thinking today how much I have worried in 2008 with regards to my DD. She was born in January and I swear I've worried about everything. Am I doing this right? Am I doing that right? I guess being a first time Mum brings many challenges. There are times I've doubted myself, feeling totally frustrated when my DD is screaming non-stop, wondering whether I am in fact a good Mum.
I worried about breastfeeding, cot sleeping, controlled crying (which I didn't continue with, think it lasted a day!), formula feeding, am I feeding her enough, is she healthy enough, getting enough milk, drinking enough water, sleeping enough, in pain with teeth and wind. You name it...I worried about it. I read many books....and ignored a particular book that stated that teething was no problem to babies. Sure. I guess if you believed everything you read, you would go crazy!
I looked at my DD today and she is now 11 months old. I can't believe how much she has grown, how happy she is and what a lovely little girl she is. There is just so much more ahead of us as a family. I can look at her now and know I have been a good Mum and done a mighty good job.
Before I had my DD, I was an extremely organised person in my work. We had BIG clients and it was stressful. So understandably, when DD came along, being organised went out the door.
I love my DD so much and I wouldn't change being a parent for the world (even though it has been hard), nothing beats the rewards.
Now we are talking about our next one!
There is double the worry with two - but also double the love
And you'll be more relaxed with your 2nd one - I know I am!!!!!
I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared about number 2![]()
They send us crazy dont they....but yes, you just have to look at what you and your DD have achieved in the last 11 months......truly amazing. Good luck with the next challenges the next 11 months bring.....and TTC![]()
Its challenging, I'll give ya that.. but its not that hard
It wouldn't be so hard for me if I didn't work part time, and didn't do cloth nappies... lol.. those things make it for a very busy night getting things ready before I go to work the next day...
But I wouldn't change it for the world - already planning #3!!!!!!!
You'll be fine honey.. just fine....
Well done to you Queenbee! Sounds like you have done an amazing job
I hope I can look back in a years time and be proud of my efforts as a Mummy too!
Good luck for 2009, I hope it brings you much joy!
Certainly is one thing which changes how you think, see things, feel etc isn't it. I feel the same though, there can be many challenges but it's worth it. I bet you still can't believe that you're talking about # 2 when not long ago you were not.
ozzie, yes i am a bit shocked that your mind can change that quickly.
arimeh, lil and mbear, thanks to you all also. get them all over and done early i say!
As a first time Mum I have worried about many of the things you listed also. I think every Mum is an amazing person, and we don't give ourselves enough credit. Sometimes the pressure of having two babies gets to me and I feel like it is all to hard, but then I watch my beautiful children, who as soon as they see my face in the morning smile so bright and I think to myself... no I am doing a great job!!
Good luck TTC #2. Sometimes it might be double the trouble but most of all it is double the love, kisses, smiles and hugs!!!!!!!
