    Ok a weird one...

Ok, I really don't want this to sound *****y but I have to get other peoples opinions on this one...

A friend of a friend gave birth the other day and our friend "N" was telling us about it and how she had to have a cesar etc. Anyway, after getting all the usual questions out of the way, ie: how'd she birth, how long labour, how big was bubs etc etc.. I asked what his name was .... *pause for long sigh*.... the childs name.. is .. Braxton.... And im not even joking unfortunately. I feel horrible cause that's someones childs name you know, but when he told me I just stared blankly and it must of been written all over my face I was thinking "is she for real?"... so please tell me Im not the only one, and it's weird...

I'm confuzzled? Why is it weird? Its definitely a name, its not made up. Its actually a variation of Brock too. It was originally a last name first, but its no different from harrison, jackson, cooper, hunter and many other surnames that have been made into first names.

Not my cup of tea, but I wouldn't call it weird.

Ditto Cai. I wouldnt use it personally but its def not the most unusual Ive seen and it IS a legit name.

My lord what do people think of my ds2's name if Braxton is mega unusual

The first thought that came into my head was Toni Braxton.

I don't think it is an unusual name, not my cup of tea but not everyone likes my DS' name which is Oscar. There are quite a few of my gf's who have named their DS or DD's names that I am not fond of but they grow on you and now I can't imagine them being any other name.

I did think of braxton-hicks though and had a giggle!

It took me ages to work out why you might think it was weird LOL.

I actually don't mind it at all and I think most people wouldn't make that association, but here on BB we see references to Braxton Hicks a lot so it's a bit more top of mind. Far worse names out there IMO.

I quite like it - and the only reason I think "braxton hicks" is probably because I get them every day atm! Once I'm not pregnant, I doubt I'd even think of it!
