I have been trying to see mention of the above before I ask the question, as it seems so silly, but can anyone tell me if there is a blue substance that is taken as treatment for PCOS to help when ttc?
When DH and I decided to tell our families of my PCOS, my SIL kindly told me that PCOS isn't anything to worry about (I'm sure she was trying to help, but why do ppl say that!?!?!?). She told me her friend has it and just told her doctor she wanted a baby NOW and she got some blue stuff that she took and she got pregnant.
Now I'm not silly and I know its unfortunately not that simple and that it may have taken some time that my SIL doesn't know about before her friend conceived, but I was just wondering about this blue stuff. I have my next gyno appt on Friday and since my last one I have read the PCOS forums on here and have got a lot more 'real' treatment info. Thanks girls! I want to be able to ask her about all of the things I have read about and I thought I might be able to find out about this blue stuff too.
i'd be asking your SIL to get the name of this "blue" stuff her friend used. the only treatments i can think of with blue are the puregon injections and pregnyl injections - puregon pen comes in a blue case (so the needle thing), pregnyl has blue on the box.
some metformin doses have blue on the box as well...
they're the only ones i've been exposed to so far that have any relationship to blue...
thanks briggsy's girl, I will do that. I was trying to avoid bringing the subject up as I don't think she really understands that not everyone just gets pregnant. I should give her the benefit go the doubt I guess.
no I don't so I will talk to her. Maybe I can use the opportunity to educate her about PCOS because her friend obviously (and fair enough too) just gave her the good news part of it. Thanks
