ok DD 26 months is no longer having day sleep so we ensure she's in bed by 7pm.
she is also TT at the moment, using sticker rewards.
problem is she has learnt the art of stalling, we put her on the potty before and after bath, she normally goes, sometimes during bathtime as well. after dressing and going to bed the 'wee's' start, needing to wee. i dont want to discourage her TT but she knows whats shes doing- stalling bedtime. sometimes she goes others like tonight we sit there for 10 mins waiting..... for nothing. im getting very frustrated with her, its especially hard like nights tonight when DH isnt home, im loosing my temper with her alot what can i do so she knows its ok to wee in her nappy or do i just suck it up and get her up and go potty? we take the potty into her room for these moments so she realises that she's not going anywhere.
oh hun its hard, but maybe do the pick her up and run to the potty and then carry her back to bed? That way she knows that its not run around fun time, but serious business! When she gets older it will be valuable to be able to pick her up & put her on the toilet half asleep....
thanks christy and loula!! going to try a reward system for not wanting to get up and wee hsrd as its the opposite to what we want her to do during the day, she's been down an hour but up 3 times to 'wee', first time she went, but the last two nothing
It's very tricky hun - it might be worth talking to MCH nurse when you are there next. Bub is due soon and you dont want to be a your wits end batteling with this IYKWIM?
I dont know your little lady but it will be a high chance that new bubs arriving will effect every routine for you all. just do what makes life easier for you that you are happy to do x
absolutly spot on there!!! getting very worried about bubs arriving and bedtime drama, took 2 hr to get her down tonight, numerous calls for the toilet, even straight after going she wanted to go again, she ended up overtired, talk about stressfull
loula she doesnt seem to understand that its ok to pee in her night nappy! she wears cloth so has wool shorties over the top (same with sposies over night otherwise she takes nappy off) so its a pain undressing her
thanks loula!! things have been getting easier the past two night, im not giving her options now! she was/is playing us, we do normal night routine, into bed, she's up within 5 minutes saying wee's, i take nappy off, past two night she has wee'd already but i still take her to the potty, then back to bed and she's gone to sleep, tonight was only about 5 mintues! so hopefully with me been stricter things will get easier
Jols I am dealing with this atm too. According to daycare she does it during the day nap time too, sitting there for up to 20 minutes!!! I am over it too so I think we will try some of the suggestions Loula has given you!!
3 nights now she's gone doen much easier!!!
we still do our normal night routine, into bed, say night, within 2 mins i get 'mummy wees, wee, wees, wees' so she has one chance to go potty/toilet, then its backto bed and she goes to sleep, i have accepted that thats probable going to be the norm from now on, but its a small issue that i can deal with!
