I have a few questions to ask... DD1 is 21 months old and for the past few mornings has been waking up with a huge wet nappy...she sleeps through..her liquid intake hasnt increased prior to bed. Its so wet it goes through the nappy onto the sheets. The other thing is it STINKS. Its only the morning one that does smell. It makes me gag!!! Reminds me of a nursing home smell....sorry terrible analogy, but thats the smell. She doesnt have a fever so am ruling out a UTI. Shes been telling us if shes done poos and while shes weeing lately.
So does anyone have any idea why this is happening in the morning???
Teething wee, and because it is a night wee it will smell even worse because it's more concentrated. Is she beginning to wee less in the day? Because that would make her wetter at night.
My DS has just started doing the same thing. I almost vomited changing his nappy this morning. Damn molars *sigh*
OOhhh... just changed the second nappy and OMG i serious think I'm going to chuck. That smell is so bad. I just changed all her clothes again and smothered her in some lovely smelling lotion.....
Cookiemonster...yep shes getting her 2 yr old molars and has been crankie for some time. I was putting it down to teeth, new baby and just her age. But the wee is so strong...yuck...can you see I am having issues about it!!!! And yes shes not having many wet nappies throughout the day....does that mean I can start toilet training her soonish?!
I think it would be worth a try (T/T) but I'm not really sure as my DS is only 11 months so I have no idea!
But yeah, teething wee is disgusting, it smells like a combination of paint and nail polish remover or something LOL!!
Is her nappy actually wet when she wakes up or does she flood it with the first bvottle of the day (or at breakky etc?) If her nappy is less et before she eats, try putting her on the potty or toilet as soon as she gets up.
Hopefully someone else has some better advice!
