Yesterday I found out that a colleagues' son from works was ill almost overnight the day before, then all of a sudden put on life support due to a brain haemorrhage, and tragically yesterday afternoon, there was no hope at all, and she had to turn off the life support.

This poor lady is a single mum, and always was so happy and energetic, and now has had this horrible horrible tragic event, and it will impact her dramatically.

My heart goes out to her, as I like all of you, have a child/children, and know just how much our littles ones can change our life because of the love that we feel for them. I never understood a mothers love, until my son arrived. No words can ever describe how much I love him. When I became a mother my heart softened SOOO much, that the thought of any children suffering/dying, brings me to instant tears.

Its times like this, where I think about the things that I worry about, like how will I be able to afford this or that, give my son the best in life, and all the other things that I worry about, when it just doesn't matter. My son is here, he is alive and well.

It makes me realise that I just want to live for the moment, embrace every moment i have with my son, because, like this poor woman, you don't know what is around the corner. It makes everything else that I complain about, - seem menial, small.

Insignificant.

It is times like this that i get a reality check. Life is so short. I want to enjoy it, and just live every second of it. I want to just remember the way I feel about loving life, because it is so easy to get caught up in everything when you forget.

Treasure your children, embrace every moment with them.
