thread: What do you think of the name Gabriel?

    What do you think of the name Gabriel?

    I've been thinking about this quite a bit and just want some opinions

    I think it is an amazing name but I don't know if I could us it for my son.

    I think I always think of a girl named Gabriella who I went to school and didn't really like.

    I love it. We used it as a middle name for one of our boys. It is a beautiful name.

    One of the archangels like Michael and Raphael.
    Love it and love the shortened version of Gabe too.

    I'm not a fan, but that is 'cause I've been addicted to Heroes and the bad guy's name is Gabriel. Before that I was ambivilent to it - its a good name, but the teasing factor at school if bullies shorten it to Gay.

    Hi Catherinemoses,

    my I've taught one and as for as teasing this never occurred to the kids for our Gabe (mind you it was a common tease to any one of the boys from any of them, unfortunately its still used by kids as an insult). Anyway for me it reminds me of the two Gabriels I've known, both outstanding kids who were such "people" people and coincidently?? both very bright. So a from me
