DS#1 will be turning 3 soonish and we want to have a b'day party for him - for once!
We are not keen to host one at home - because, well the house is a bit of a mess and DH is not keen is show everyone how little of the renovations he hasn't done yet!!
So, does anyone have any ideas on where to host or what to do for a 3rd birthday party which would cater bother for adults and children, ranging in ages from a few months to about 8 years.
Those indoor play centres are a great idea - but depends on your budget.....it usually ranges from $12 up per child (ive know a place charges $22).....often they have a minimum of 8.....
McDonalds is often good for that age - over and done with in 2hrs, the kids have had a play, filled their bellies, and adults can consume some greasy takeaway if wish...
My DD#2 is turning 3 in Feb - we are having it at my home and im forcing DH to tidy up after the rennos!!! ...im hiring some little tikes toys so as the kids can have an array of activities in our backyard.......
Yes, we have indoor play centre nearby - which always smells of sweat and dirty socks or wet nappies - it is also an indoor sports centre!! It doesn't cater too well for the adults - a little cramped for the party area.
Happy for suggestions for excellent play centres - which are the local ones aren't but there must be a least one really good one somewhere.
Park is a good option - plenty of those nearby but Melbourne weather as always is unpredictable and just don't want everyone back here if it rains. Need one that will cater for rain with plenty of shelter - can't think of one off hand just now.
Mbear - thanks for your sugestion. Good luck hosting the party at home. Our toy library hires party packs which would be great - but the house is a mess - maybe we should have it at someone else house?
We had DS's 1st bday at IL's house, our house at the time was too small for everyone and we were originally going to have it at the park but of course it rained in the morning making everything too wet for the kids to play.
We looked into getting a travelling farm for DS's 2nd bday its a bit exxy though (might be cheaper in Melb than up here) plus you'd need to find somewhere to have it.
