2. Is it better before or after a feed...I'm thinking after a feed as she would be more relaxed (although she has colic so often is crying straight after a feed until I can settle her to sleep)
3. Should I be putting her in pj's every night already?
Wow, this new Mum thing is fun...just when I get one thing sorted, I realise I'm not doing something else
I'm finding there's not enough time in the day for tummy time, baths, massage's, reading, trying to get her to sleep, trying to get me to sleep, washing and the list goes on.....
i bath Mia every day. When she was a newborn i would bath her every 2nd day but she didnt do anything.. just fed and slept.
Mia has pj's every night but being hot shes just been going to bed in a singlet. She doesnt sleep in what she was in all day.
I usually feed Mia after her bath but before is good too.. makes no difference really. Last night she had a bottle before her bath coz she woke up an haour late in the morning, which usually stuffs things around...
1. Should I be bathing my baby everyday? - I wouldn't - we bathed DD about every second or third day when she was little. NOw it's about every day or second cause she gets soooo dirty!! BAbies have such nice skin and most docs.experts reccomend not bathing all the time and def not using many soaps if any. Some people do bathe everyday cause its part of their routine.
2. Is it better before or after a feed...I'm thinking after a feed as she would be more relaxed (although she has colic so often is crying straight after a feed until I can settle her to sleep) We used to after a feed so she was full and happy!
3. Should I be putting her in pj's every night already? Depends on what she was wearing during the day. If she was already wearing a jumpsuit type thing we just left he in that.
hello, when lachlan was a newborn it was once every 2 days and i did put pjs on for sleep as bath was the last thing we did before bed. i have been told that bub gets tired in the bath so i would do it after the feed because that way she will get a full feed without falling asleep iykwim
as the others have said...
when Jack was a newbie..he only got bathed every 2nd day..now he is nigger/older he has a bath every day (he has too he sweats soo much!!) and yep he is in his jim jams..
i feed him after his bath then he is settled and down for the night
At such a young age bathing every second day is fine. If you bath them too frequently it can dry the skin out. Make sure you use some moisturiser as well.
Once my DD started crawling I started bathing everyday. She gets very grubby now and needs a bath everyday.
I thought I'd start trying to take her in the shower with me every second day as I've heard some babies like this. But I've found she doesn't blink and the water makes her eyes red Poor little thing.
1. Should I be bathing my baby everyday? we were told every few days, but DS has eczema and gets grumpy and irritated after baths... so sometimes I've let him go for a week! stinky baby lol!
We tried a shower for the first time the other day - he didn't know WHAT to make of it - he was all googly eyes
2. Is it better before or after a feed...I'm thinking after a feed as she would be more relaxed (although she has colic so often is crying straight after a feed until I can settle her to sleep) - I was told at night & after feed, it relaxes them - but it doesn't work for us (cos of the grumpy itch factor), so we tend to be pretty opportunistic. It's usually in the day time after a giant poo!
3. Should I be putting her in pj's every night already? I just sleep DS in whatever is stretchy, comfy & about the right weight for the temperature. ATM it's so hot he's usually in short-sleeves or sleeveless bodysuits.
