    When did you/can you...

Stop using bottles for during the day? For formula feeds I mean. I've had ALOT of people saying to me that dd shouldn't be using a bottle during the day anymore, only for her night feed, and that she can just be having her milk in a sippy cup during the day

So when did you stop using bottles and putting their milk into a sippy cup?

i was always told, bottles arnt a problem unless they fall asleep having one. So i would give her, her milk in a sippy cup if shes happy to have it that way. if not, then dont. she will.. one day.

They can be on bottles up to 1 hun.
If you want you can start weaning her onto a sippy cup, but thats your choice.
DD1 had a bottle for sleep til 17 months. Had FF in it right up to 12 months though.
DD2 still has milk in a pop top. Stopped with bottles at around 20 months - 2.
They should really give up the bottle when they go on normal milk, but do what ever is right for you guys.

Really? By all means give her a sippy cup if she goes for it but 'shouldn't' be using a bottle during the day at 9 months? Gimme a break.

Maybe think about who these 'people' are!

tay is happy to have juice and water from sippy cup, but will only take milk from a bottle..
and hey im fine with that, she is ahppy no arguments, she drinks it all and enjoys it.
she only has morning and night bottle now as she has water at lunch and at day care they have juice after lunch in sippy cup..

    do what your comfortable with..

i didnt put tay onto full cows milk till she was 13-14 months old, mainly because i still had formula it was on special so i bought 3 tins lol ooops.

Yup 'people' think they know everything.

You know what, I don't like having to hold his blooming sippy cup \for him, so we use sippy cup for water and bottles for milk. Yesterday i bought a straw cup that he could actually drink out of so that is now for both... still have to hold it so he doesn't tip it upside down, but hey at least now my harm doesn't get sore.

I gave DD her FF in bottles only. I weaned her off FF for her mid-day feed and later the morning one and she weaned herself off her night feed at 14 months. Only FF went into bottles, any other drinks were in sippy cups. She started on sippy cups at about 10 months.

They can be on a bottle until YOU want them to stop! im so over hearing people telling others what they should and shouldnt be doing with their child. Your DD is still a baby for goodness sake. Next theyll all be telling us our babies should be married by the time theyre 1 year old!
DS was using bottles until he was about 18 months old, i switched him because i had a baby on the way and didnt want him to get jealous of her using his bottles. He would always however use a sippy cup for his water. When i switched him i bought a certain sippy cup (non spill but had no valvue you had to pull out and clean) which are now only used for his milk. There is no different between him and any other 2 year old now.
So just listen to your instincts hun. That is the only thing that should be telling you what you should and shouldnt do.

DD2 is 26 months and still has 2 bottles a day of milk....to her sippy cups are only for water or other drinks...OTHER then milk.

DD1 is 15 moinths and stillhas 4 bottles (mainly because she refuses solids). Sippy cups for water only with her too...

Both wont drink milk from cups.

My boys were drinking from a sippy cup by 6 months - but then they had to - they were bf babies who wouldn't take a bottle and needed EBM when I returned to work. Generally the medical advice is to try and switch from bottles to cups at around 12 months, as bottles can contribute to dental decay (even if they don't take the bottle to bed). However I wouldn't get too hung up on exact ages. And you certainly don't need to worry yet.

My youngest is 19 months and he still has 3 formula feeds a day - from a bottle
He doesnt eat well enough for my liking so i have chosen to keep him on the formula for that little bit extra. He has water from a straw cup.

My other two boys were a bit different - took them off formula and onto cows milk just after they turned one. Cows milk from a bottle for a month or so then into a sippy cup.

I think it is up to you - each child is different and so are the circumstances.

Do what feels right for you. You shouldnt be made to feel like you are doing the wrong thing.

    Take care

Aiden still has his milk from his bottles. Wont take it from a sippy cup, and to be honest, it doesnt bother me in the slightest. Still has 3, sometimes even 4 bottles a day.
