hi girls
we have been given a peg perego pram (2nd hand) which is great it is 4 wheel drive etc, but it is enourmous and i have an LPG tank in the boot of my car and cant fit the pram in even when its pulled apart into two pieces, i can get it in the back seat (just) but once i have the baby car seat in there i wont be able to, plus it is VERY heavy (i can hardly lift it) so DP and i have decided to keep it just for taking bubs for walks near our house.
i want to find a small pram or stroller, suitable from birth, for taking bubs on trips to the shops/rellies etc which will fit easily in the back seat (we have a falcon so its a pretty big sedan but again cant use the boot), but i really hate those terrible little $30 ones from kmart etc they look so cheap and nasty...so something that looks nice but is light and folds up quite small.
we will be buying 2ndhand so any not-too-expensive suggestions are welcome cause then i can look up the model on ebay or in the 2ndhand classifieds!
Is it lengthwise or width wise that it doesn't fit in your boot? If it is widthwise then look at the steelcraft umbrella layback strollers (the fisher price one at target is the same) they will be much narrower in with but will be the full length of your boot.
If you're talking about from birth, why not look into a sling for bubs? Keeps them nice & close and they can even breastfeed in some. And a lot smaller than a pram in the boot
Yep we got a peanut shell for bubs, wud like a pram/stroller too though, also I know my mum would need to use a stroller when she has her cause of her back. Ill look up those layback stroller thanks! The lpg tank is on the other side of the back seat, so the boot is long and narrow, and also with the peg perego it was very high so we couldn't shut the boot lid...so I need something long and skinny
just thought id add the dimensions of my boot....length (left hand side to right hand side of car) 120cm, width (from LPG tank to boot edge) 50cm, depth (from floor of boot to lid of closed boot) 50cm

: putting in dimesions of boot
Hi,
Target sell a brand called Baby Club. They make a few strollers, resonable price, new from about 70-180, so you should be able to pick up a bargin on ebay. Anyway the one we have is approx. Length - 105cm, Width - 28cm, Height - 27cm folded.
They make a newer one now, that I'm sure is even smaller.
Anyway I would have a look at them new at Target, then try looking for one second hand.
i brought a Childcare Hola from Ebay it was new for $180 , after not being able to lift my bertini . i only had a $200 budget and i love this pram .
basicaly the chair can be a seat or a bassinet and only weighs a minamal amount , i was able to lift after a c section . can come part and folds compact i get this in the back of a small hatch back , and have had it in the back of a holden vectra with gas . i was not able to use a sling so i loved my pram and even though shes now walking i still use it everyday .
there's Baby love and valco similar versions that you might pick up secondhand .
try gumtree as well as ebay and mum swap for possiable options
thanks ladies,
