    Some ideas of things that DS loves:
    * playing with cups, bowls, spoons etc.
    * playing with water/hose in the backyard
    * sand table (he did start out eating this at 12 months, but now he actually plays with it)
    * drawing with crayons
    * puzzles (he tries to put the pieces back, but still needs help)
    * swimming (we go to lessons weekly)
    * climbing up and down stairs (I think he could do this all day! )
    * playing in the McDonalds playground
    * painting (it makes a big mess, so strip him down to his nappy first!)
    * vacuuming, sweeping, etc
    * playing in the backyard (paticularly if its dirty)
    * walking around outside (going to the mailbox is an adventure when they can walk!)
    * swinging in the swing
    * playing with wooden blocks (he loves knocking down my towers)
    * reading books (he will go & get them from the shelf for me to read)
    * singing & dancing

    You can get some more ideas from the 'fun with toddlers' sticky above.

    Oh, and re. the shops thing - my DS enjoys the shops heaps more if I let him walk while holding my hand, or stand in the trolley, rather than being strapped into the pram. (yes, shopping takes a lot longer now!)
