Exclamation Help! Tenting?.. is it bad?

OK, was dtd with DH and noticed my belly went a weird shape - the sides sort of dropped down, almost cave in and a big wide rdge part in the middle.
From what I can gather this is called tenting?
What does it mean? Is it bad? should be stop dtd?

Sounds to me like the baby's turned on it's side for something to do. Or, if not that, it just moved in to an odd position.

I think you'll be find rayray........ but as always, if you're really worried ask your Dr.

Ha Ha Ha the penis ! That tickled my fancy !

I had "tenting" with DS#3 and it is from your stomach muscles giving way.
I went to a physio who specialises in pregnancy - gave me the correct exercises. I also had to wear a belly band for tummy support - very good and not so sexy but it helps. Check with your Dr or OB etc. Be careful how you get up from laying down - it can do more damage. With the right things to do you can make it better.

Others have probably told you this- i just caught the penis comment as i was scrolling. Will go and read other comments now.

    Good luck !

    Ok -
noone else said the same as me !

I didnt mean to alarm you but i have heard of others with the same thing as what i had.

Hopefully it was just bubs !

As i said before - go and get checked and if it is your tummy muscles then you can get some ideas on what to do.

I never realised it had a name before either! I know your belly can go a bit like that with a posterior baby and is a tell-tale sign that's the position they are in. Wont hurt to ask your Ob when you next see them.

Trillian - it kinda looked the opposite of the posterior thing, like kidney bean, rounded side facing out. Very strange.

Chickybabe - no thats kinds what I had heard which is why I was concerned. I am already wearing a pelvic brace/band for sciatica though so dont kow if its the same thing or if I'd have to choose one over the other.

I am seeing the physio tomorrow night (I have one who sepcialised too thank goodness) and will ask her about it. It hasnt happened since.
