Hi all - this is my first pregnancy, so excuse any 'silly' questions....
I am currently 5 weeks and had my first severe bout of morning sickness yesterday. Headache, severe nausea and overall tiredeness. Today I'm feeling 100%!
Is this normal with morning sickness? I was under the impression it was an ongoing thing for the first few weeks? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated
It can definitely come and go! Every pregnancy is different - try your best to remember that. I did my head in wondering why I felt so much worse than some of my friends and then also worried when I felt better when others seemed to suffer continuously. Enjoy the good days while you can. You'll often find as soon as you speak up about it (or write it down in a thread on BB), the nausea kicks back in and you wonder why you bothered speaking up - nasty morning sickness!!
Morning sickness often really kicks in from 6 weeks too hon so you could just be easing into it. I hope for your sake you're not 'blessed' with it though.
its definetly normal hun, yesterday i couldnt get out of bed i felt so bad, and today im 100% great and spring cleaning the house!!!!
im hanging for this part to be over so i can start enjoying being pregnant again.
Good luck hun, hopefully it doesnt hit u too hard

I was told that it came and went until early in the second tri and that was normal. Unfortunately I get Hyperemesis, so mine simply doesn't go. It starts and it stays until a few days after I have baby. You can look at this good day, not with worry, but with relief! LOL.
first of all congrats on the pregnancy! this is my first pregnancy to and i only have 26days left and im so exited! this is a planned pregnancy so i knew pretty much straight away when i got pregnant, my morning sickness (i call it all day sickness) started at 3 weeks and didnt slow down till about 15weeks! as i said it lasted all day and was horrible, i would get it probvably on average 5days of the week with the one "good day" here and there... one thing i will suggest is if u need to sleep, sleep, if u want to walk, walk. eat WHAT U FEEL LIKE! everyone said to me to eat dry crackers, ginger etc but looking back if i felt like a big mac i had a big mac and felt fine! if u dont feel like eating something then dont eat it, thats how i was anyways! every pregnancy is different so ppl cant know how u feel so just makesureu do what u want and look after urself! i also found that i needed heaps of air - if i was in a stuffy room or didnt have fresh air on me i felt sick.
hope this has helped, good luck hun xxx
