Which High Chair??? Stokke or Jollykidz???

The IL's have decided they will buy DS a high chair for his christening so I've been shopping around looking for one (even though he won't need it for a few months yet). I like the look of the Stokke or the Jollykidz as he can sit at the table with us or we can use it as a standard high chair with a tray. Does anyone have either of these chairs and if you have the stokke is it worth the money? I just don't like the other ones that look like a big lump of plastic with a hole for Bub to sit in.

Or if anyone has something similar any feedback (positive or negative) will be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have the stokke and absolutley LOVE it but -

we moved house and the kitchen overlooks the living area with a bench separating them. There is nowhere to put a table, and as DS eats before us (DH at work) I had to buy an alternative as the stokke has no tray and was too low for eating at a kitchen bench. I wasn't about to leave himm eating in a room by himself while I was in the kitchen working. If this is not likely to be an issue for you, then they are great.

I have cousins who have used their Stokke chairs into adulthood at the family table, so you definitely get your moneys worth if you can do this. Normal highchairs are not being used after a few years...

Thanks Rosead. That is a valid point re: kitchen bench, it's great to buy things in theory but you have no idea what little issues pop up until they happen. Thanks heaps for your input.

personally, if I was buying it... I would go the JollyKidz only cause before I was married I used to be a Jolly Kid LOL I brought my boys a Jolly brand table and chairs for their room for that very reason.

i have the stokke and love it! mostly because it is really easy to clean; bubs can sit at the table with you; and it grows with the child and can be used well into adult-hood (my neighbour has had hers for almost 30 years!). They make great computer chairs LOL!

Thanks astrolady & cassius for your replies. I've still been pondering over the decision but I am leaning towards the stokke - it's more expensive but I think we'll get heaps more use out of it.
