    Remember that thread when....

... I asked how long I could go with an engaged baby, soft cervix, etc, because of threatened preterm labour at 33 and 35 weeks? Well look at my flaming ticker!! LOL

So anyway, now we've answered that question, let's answer this one: when am I going into labour?

I had prelabour all night last night, and the night before. Last night, or should I say 5am this morning, I was ready to call the hospital after twelve hours of ten minute contx that were getting to six minutes apart and felt good and strong. I felt a bit sick so I went and laid down with a somnolent hubby, and promptly fell asleep to awake two hours later to *nothing*. If I get a contraction while I'm sitting down, I have to stand up, but they aren't hurty enough to make me stop walking or talking. They aren't regular. Baby is very quiet. I feel spewy and nearly fainted before but I think that's from lack of sleep.

So please all of you hereby laugh at me, torment me with your stories of how you went two weeks overdue, and all your horror week-long prodromal labour stories. Dh asked hopefully if having a bit of nooky might speed things along a bit but the look I gave him seems to have convinced him of the wisdom of avoiding asking again.

LOL well done on getting to 39 weeks... I have had all my babies by 39 weeks and sounds like things are starting to happen... go for a nice long walk ( but one where your DH can run back to get the car if he needs to ) things will start happening and you will have your baby very soon

Woot! I have been on the look out to make sure your bub stuck around a little longer. Seems after all that kerfuffle, he has decided he likes it there! LOL

I am expecting to see a BA soon from the sounds. I mean really, your body has been primed for this for weeks - it just needs that nudge to remember what it was doing 4 weeks ago!

Do you really want to hear those stories...

I was told at around 11wks I would probably have my baby by 34wks

At around 30wks I was told no I can go full term

    At 36wks the prelabour started

At 39wks I begged my chiro to either help me go into labour or make the damn things stop

    At 39wks I was told I was 3-4cm dilated

At 40 wks + 4 days my OB took pity on me and broke my waters 3hrs later I was holding my bubba

Good luck and hope things get moving for you

i have to laugh at the nooky thing. DH has been trying to get his fill in before i cut off supply

To add to it he got some clear bubbles things on his hands, when he showed me today and said they were itchy i warned him not to scratch them as the "juice" spreads and more will appear. I used to get them as a kid all the time. now his scared to self relieve for fear of dpreading them to his ykw

Maybe i can make you laugh into labour.

Thanks all for your laughs and support

I'm booked in for an AROM on Wednesday if things haven't sparked off by then - the OB did an internal today and I'm over 2cm dilated, very soft ("still a bit thick" _ yeah, well we already knew that, didn't we?? ) and the baby's head is very low.

So one way or another, by Weds evening it will all be over and I'll be cuddling my very unexpected but welcome little bundle of boy-joy.
