    grunting while sleeping

DD is 6 weeks old today. SHe has started this new thing in the past week or so where she grunts and grunts and grunts in her sleep. She could go on for hours. its really loud..enough to wake me up...but im worried that she is in pain or something. Sometimes she passes wind at the end of a series of loud grunts, other times it just goes on and on..she cant possibly be getting restful sleep?

i do manage to get burps when feeding most of the time, so im not sure why she has so much discomfort and gas coming out the other end...any ideas?

Ive had the same with my DD2 and DS. They are big time grunters. With DS i have had him tested through a kenisiologist for allergies and he is intolerant to cocoa (BUMMER no chocolate) and eggs, so by avoiding this it is reduced. It can be just because they are learning about their bodies too. It is prob gas though so maybe look at what you eat, there are websites that will tell you what is gas causing when breastfeeding. If not breastfeeding it could be an ingredient in the formula.
I know with DD2 it did pass after a few months and just resolved itself. xo
