hi,
my 11 month old dd is teething at the moment she already has 4 teeth and she has another 2 on the way i have noticed she is grinding her teeth alot and i dont want her to ruin her teeth and i cant stand the sound it makes..lol she hasnt been well she has got rebella and has been quite upset so dont want to do anything tha will upset her more she has only just started doing this for the past week..what should i do???
its very common and not an issue at this stage, it only becomes a problem if she is still doing it when her adult teeth come through, she will grow out of it!
My DD did this too, and I was totally stressing that she would ruin her beautiful new teeth, but it really was a short lived phase, maybe two weeks or so?? She is 20 months now, and hasn't done it in a very long time. I think its just them getting used to the feel of new teeth in their mouth
just searched the forums for this as my 10 month old DD has just started grinding her teeth! she has four teeth and i was really worried, good to know its common and short lived!!!.....doesnt make it sound any better though....it makes my skin crawl...like nails down a chalk board! lol
I was told it was because their teeth are so sharp because they have to cut through the gum and they do it to grind them down a bit and make them not so sharp, it is really common but it makes me want to vomit. My dd does it too and I hate it!
