its very common and not an issue at this stage, it only becomes a problem if she is still doing it when her adult teeth come through, she will grow out of it!

My DD did this too, and I was totally stressing that she would ruin her beautiful new teeth, but it really was a short lived phase, maybe two weeks or so?? She is 20 months now, and hasn't done it in a very long time. I think its just them getting used to the feel of new teeth in their mouth

    Hi,

My DS (13 months) sometimes does this and when I notice it, I give him something to chew, like a rusk etc. And he's only got 3 teeth!!

I figure it's no big issue at this stage ... more hideously annoying for mum than anything else .

I was told it was because their teeth are so sharp because they have to cut through the gum and they do it to grind them down a bit and make them not so sharp, it is really common but it makes me want to vomit. My dd does it too and I hate it!
