HELP! 12 mo wakes 2am every morning.

Have just read another thread on baby's sleeping habits going from good to bad and decided to start another thread as mine also seems to be getting into a habit of waking at around the same time every morning, 2 or 3 am and staying awake anywhere from 1-4 hours. She sleeps in bed with us so I am able to give her a cuddle when she stirs which would normally have put her back to sleep, but lately she is so restless that I am having to wake her up full and sit up and try to rock her back to sleep (which doesn't always work).

She appears to be trying to get back to sleep, eyes are closed and gets annoyed at being awake - but her legs won't stop wiggling. I have tried massaging her legs but this has only helped a couple of times.

I have just weaned her over slowly the last month and have her on goats milk as my husband and I are both lactose intolerant. I am wondering if this is the problem so am looking around for alternatives (maybe lactose free milk).

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it just because of her age and development stage as suggested in the other post?

Any help appreciated...this is very exhausting for both of us.

    Hi

I found that our little boy started to get incredibly restless at around this age, when he would sleep with us.

Lots of kicking, wriggling, squirming, hair twirling (my hair!), etc.

In the end, I actually found that he slept better in his own cot.

So that's where he sleeps now...and he comes in our bed when he wakes in the morning for a very special cuddle time!!!

Thanks monnie, have thought about this myself but as DD doesn't sleep in her cot except for a day sleep and a couple of hours early evening, I'm not sure I can do much about this. She has actually been a bit better the last couple of nights, still restless but not waking for hours.

Maybe its just a phase. I do notice that she is very restless for a couple nights every full moon so maybe that was it.

    Thanks for your input.
