Yes I put on heaps of weight with both my pregnancies. I put on 40kilos with the first (1kilo a week pretty much) and with no2 29kilos. Now I am pregnant (only just though) with no3 and I am so worried about the weight gain. So I am not 30weeks yet but I can sympathise with mothers that put on stacks of weight.
Hi, I am 37 weeks today and have put on about 20kg so far. My doc is unfortunatly quite focused on weight gain and weighs me at each appoint ment. Once I got to the 12 kilo mark he said "I don't want you to put on any more weight now." NOT what a pregnant woman wants to hear! I have gestational diabetes which makes the weight gain more of a problem in his eyes but personally I am not too worried about it. I am only worried about this patch of flab which appeared after the baby engaged a few weeks ago. The shape of my bump kinda changed IYKWIM and now there is this flobby bit which hangs down under my belly and is disgusting. I really hate it and can't wait to pop this bub out and start exercising!
Most people I ahve talked to have gained anything from 3kg to 30kg over the pregnancy. All depends where you were at the start I guess. I was 69kg and 163cm tall, so about 5 kg overweight already.
personally i havent put on much but one of my friends put on close to 60kg (do not recommend this!) and another put on 30kg...not sure how seeing as she is vegetarian! but both have managed to loose most of the weight
I'm only 25wks and have put on nearlly 8kg already... I find it scary to think how much I'm going to continue to put on considering the rapid rate I'm growing. Everywhere I look average and recommended weight gain are different.
I started this pregnancy heavier than any of my others...
Had gained 15-16kg by week 24 but nothing in the 7 weeks since!
So I have gone from worrying about gaining too much, to worrying about not gaining enough!
With my other three, I gained about 20kg each time, didn't seem to matter what I did... I think every woman's body is different & while obviously if you pig out you will get bigger, a lot of it comes down to individuals, what will be will be...
I'm trying not to stress too much, I'll get it off after bub is born, just rying to be sensible in the meantime.
BTW blondedoctor I TOTALLY hear you about the fold, I had a CS with no.3 & this is grossing me out! I love my bump from my belly button up
