If you go to the Picnik website, it's free to do basic stuff like cropping, some filters, resizing, etc. It's done through the website so no need to download any apps, just upload the pic you want to edit.:
Picnik is great! I used it for the editing of Blooming Bromelia's.
I also like to make collages of the animals and plants from the garden.
Ok I updated my link and sorted out my blog even thought I'm at work (rebel much?). I have just uploaded a bunch of photo's - some new, some old.

I have no idea where to start with the editing on Gimp, i LOVE B&W shots and using Sepia but haven't sorted it out yet, i also have a LOT of photos i want to attempt to keep the color in certain spots and then do B&W outer... hmmm HOW????

ZF - the only way I've found to do the black and white with colour is in Picasa 3, where you kind of 'colour in' the bits you want b&w. I think there's an online photo storage site you can do it in too, might be either photobucket or flickr.
have you guys tried just photo impact6 i get black and white easy on that:)..i can do that lol..
to clarify - by filters I mean effects... I'm only using my iPhone and apps :) nothing fancy here!:

I know what you mean. I am hardly a pro LOL! And my camera is just a point and shoot. Though I am playing with photoshop and learning new tricks with it so I think my progress might be better towards the end of the year hahaha I'd love to buy a SLR camera though!
heeey! Just jumping in to say hiya all! I've started doing Project 365 slightly retrospectively - started 2 days ago & just picked out pics already taken in the previous days. I'm loving it so far, it's really making me think & approach things differently. I don't have any fancy equipment, but I'm having a ball. I was mostly using a canon point & shoot, but tonight discovered the joy that is the hipstamatic app for iphone which I am LOVING! I'm not really doing any editing cos I really dont' have time, but maybe later this year... :D
Google "sepia in gimp" Should be the first listing its from the official GIMP site, very useful starting point and easy to follow if you are familiar enough with the program.:
B&W with colour I havent seen a tutorial for, if you are somewhat familiar with GIMP, you basically take your photo, copy it, make a new layer and paste it, lock it down then desaturate it (choosing whichever finish suits you better) then erase the bits you want the colour on. If you want more detail than that let me know :D

ZF, I woke up this morning to a bunch of emails from 365. I saw CB made the popular page and I'm the proudest Mum ever!
I'm struggling taking photos of G. He isn't obedient as CB, even with treats as an incentive.
I was that G is GORGEOUS by the way, any chance you have a plain black or white sheet, the picture might be clearer without any 'background noise' IYKWIM.
I've got a few photos with G on top of his cage and the cream background. Tho, it's the lighting - flash too bright and natural seems to wash him out.
Last night I was trying to get a photo mid flight - that was the difficult task ever. When he was flying to me the camera got in the way of his landing and he ended up on the entertainment unit, hence the photo.
I think for my birthday I'll ask for the Zoo photography course. {Sarah} got it for Christmas and I've been eyeing it off since she posted about it.

Haha i am trying not to let it LOOK time consuming :rofl: got some shots this morning, the girls haev just gone to bed so going to take 5min to myself to walk out in the paddock and see if i can't get some pics of the creek rising.
lol yes this is rather time consuming, I find myself wanting to takes photos constantly... I am guessing I'll get over the initial novelty of it sometime in the next 365 days :P
