    Photobook for mums 50th birthday.

ive just started brainstorming ideas for a photobook for my mums 50th birthday in Feb. im thinking of something like '50 years of Kathy' and ive written a list of 'events' throughout her life (meeting my dad, getting married, me & my brother, my stillborn sister, becoming a grandmother, losing her dad etc) i have all tehse photos that i will have to go looking for, and scan. i hope the quality is as good as my digital pics!

im hoping i can add text to the pages.. just a little paragraph with each pic, maybe even a nice poem or something, and im also thinking of having a 'birthday messages' page. eg- a pic of me and mum, and ill have a nice little birthday message.. the same again with my dad.. brother.. nan etc

what do you think? is this something you would like to receive?

i plan to speak to nan and ask her for a few childhood memories she has of mum, even as far back as her birth!

im really excited about it! im thinking ill use either snapfish, or Big W.. ill have to have a play around! lucky im giving myself 6 months!

Do you have a Mac or know anyone with a Mac??? i have just done a photobook on ours and its brilliant.
The best thing was i worked on it for several days at home, so if i got an idea or wanted to change it i could quickly do so...

I dont know about the Big W or snapfish, but on our we could add text and change the design, and page colours etc etc
It was brilliant and i would highly recommend.
A 20pg soft cover medium book cost me $16!

    Awesome pressie idea!!

My parents did this for my 30th!!!!!!!!!!!! Such a great pressie I love it!

Good luck with getting it all together.

(some of the pics are not as good scanned but hay you cant have everything they are still clear and usable just not as crisp as digital pics.)

They did say it was very fiddley to compile.

I LOVE photobooks! I just did one for my parents 70th's - I did mine with Momento - more expensive than the others you mentioned, but totally worth it IMO.
    Good luck with your project!
