Salvador Dali Exhibition - coming to Melbourne!!

Is anyone else as excited by this as me?? It was only a few days ago that I blogged about my favourite painting of Dali's (see the link in my sig) and today I found out a MASSIVE Dali exhibition is coming to Melbourne (National Gallery of Victoria) in June 2009!!!!

I am beside myself with excitement!!!

Also, the Pompeii Body Casts are coming around the same time to the Melbourne Museum! I think a Melbourne trip is a must for my birthday in June!!

Museum in general is great too, and they have a childrens museum and outdoor undercover play area, its really nice.

rayray - I grew up in Melbourne and I have NEVER been to the NGV!!! I have been to the Melbourne Museum countless times - I usually go every few months if there is a new exhibition! But never the NGV.

I am just so excited Dali is my FAVOURITE surrealist and has been for as long as I could remember and to be able to see is work up close and personal is like meeting a celebrity - I am jumping out of my skin!

I wonder if Galatea of the Spheres will be there...

Wow - I saw a lot of Dali pieces when I was in Spain and they are definitely worth seeing.

I remember seeing the Pompeii body casts when they were out here last - I think I was 7! So when I was in Italy I went and saw them again at Pompeii - it is so eerie but fascinating.

I will definitely be going to see both of them when they are here too.

I always leave things too late - I was devastated I missed the recent Art Deco exhibition at NGV. Might try to make it to this one on the weekend!

I love Salvador Dali and his works. I'll have to take the kids to this one too.

I'm also waiting on an exhibition by Alexandra Nechita to finally make it here too. I love her work too.
