Child with social and developmentally inappropriate behaviour

    Hi,

can anyone please tell me what assistance/support/help they know of for children displaying behaviour which is socially and developmentally inappropriate within Victoria?

    Thanks

Your GP should be able to give you a referral to a paediatrician. You might even want to see your Maternal/Child health nurse first to discuss your options, and perhaps they'd write a note to the GP to help outline your concerns. Your paed/mchn will be able to refer you to services like Speech and Occupational Therapy for assessment if needed. If you have a good MCHN, they can be a valuable resource, because they know where the boundaries of 'normal' lie since they see all sorts of children. You could even just arrange to see them more regularly so that they can help monitor bub's development before making a judgement.
    All the best. xo
