I'm just having one of those days were I'm lying here after a crappy day looking at my little ds and thinking how come you had to be stamped with this?
I hate ADHD!
I hate how it has Eaten my son
I hate how the only way to manage him is to drug him
I miss the sweet innocent happy fun going gentle fragile little boy I once had..
I live everyday knowing I have failed cause I have to medicate my son to be able to breath, that I could cause him long time health issues in the future..
It sucks
My son has done such a 360 that I feel I don't know him anymore!
When his medicated he is so quiet, do placid, more than normal, I don't know if he even smiles!!
Is he happy?
Will he resent me later?
Aaarrrgghhh I just want him happy!!
I want him to not have to tale all this crap, but not be running out into traffic, scaling fences and poles, screeching out sounds and jumping over all the furniture, attacking people cause they have invaded his space, without him attacking me cause I can't answer his questions and more but honestly I'm so emotionally drained I can't..
So ADHD (and whatever else(still going through diagnosis))
I hate you!!
Hey hun, my eldest also has adhd and has medication he is 11. Can I ask what meds his on? It took us yrs to get the right ones and now that we have he is great not docil or ova placid. With others he was. So it might be worth asking ur paed about others to try. The medication shouldemt make them so docil,it should omly help them to slow there thinking a lil so they can be themselves. My boy is on concerta......its a slow release form of ritalin so he gets a low does evenly all day rather then a big serge at first only to give more later.
my best friends son is nearly 9 and is also ADHD. I have had him sleep here the last 2 nights. She used to have him on Ritalin (sp) but didn't like that it was speed based. She now has him on Streterra (sp). You wouldn't know he has ADHD, he's just a normal 9 yr old 'cept he talks heaps LOL. He can still be naughty etc, but I think that is also the environment he is in at the time. She too went through quite a few meds before finding the right one for him.
Having my own crappy ADHD day today, but its about the stupid stigma attached & the judgement on 'labelling your child'.
I knew it'd happen, but some things, but some people really just cut you to the core
